Maureen Fischer is a thriller and short story writer with a background in journalism and marketing. A former reporter for United Press International, she built a second career as a copywriter and brand strategist, crafting compelling narratives for global brands. Her fiction has earned recognition including a Writer’s Digest Short Story Award and publication in the crime anthology Once Upon a Crime alongside authors including Vince Flynn, Ken Bruen andWilliam Kent Krueger .
She was selected for the Loft Literary Center’s competitive Mentorship Program, and spent one fellowship year working with nationally acclaimed authors Christopher Castellani and Mary Rockcastle.
Maureen lives with her husband in Eden Prairie, Minnesota, and owns an Airbnb on Pokegama Lake up in Pine City. The Airbnb sleeps twelve, includes 150 feet of lakeshore and has a habit of inspiring more questions than answers. She’s fairly certain it’s plotting its own book.
